An outstanding and enthusiastic research-focused team player is sought to contribute to our teaching programmes and complement our research interests. The department has a wide range of research interests in areas including biomolecular engineering, low carbon technology and nanostructured materials and we are also interested in candidates with other topical areas of research.  

The position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our vibrant research programme, working within a dynamic interdisciplinary environment. As part of this programme the department has recently invested over £2M in new materials characterisation laboratories. 

The post-holder will be expected to build on the department’s interdisciplinary research programme by developing independent research funding opportunities and collaborating with other leading research centres. You will also be expected to contribute effectively to the teaching of chemical engineering on its fulltime and unique distance learning undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and to contribute to the development of an innovative chemical engineering curriculum suited to the challenges of the 21st century. 

The post-holder will have a first degree and PhD (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering or a related subject, and preferably will have post-doctoral experience. An aptitude to interact with industry and self motivation are essential for this post.
